- Saturated
 |
HWJ recently had
the honor of recording at Saturation Acres, a studio
noted for its production of singer-songwriters and
up and coming artists. With the venerable Bret Alexander
as their producer, the band assembled an eclectic
blend of road-tested tunes that they released under
the title “Saturated”. Eclectic is perhaps
an understatement. The opening tune on the CD is
Jambalaya Stew, a break-neck jam that echoes the
Chili Peppers. Next is the Stonesy “Be My
World”, a tune about lost opportunities. “Atlantic
City” is a Beatles/Springsteen influenced
song that examines the side of the casino town that
everyone misses as they take in the bright lights.
The spirit of Santana lives in “Senorita Blue”,
a song about a relationship that cannot be, but
a love that burns on. “Elegant Martini”
is a bar-burning ode to gin and vermouth, while
“Remember” is the E Street Band’s
take on 50s pop. |
