What
up in 2007?
It’s the middle of December and hitting 60 degrees,
now that’s my kind of weather!!! Might have to get the
lounge chairs out and work on a tan. J
My next article, the week of Christmas, will be my annual
list of the 10 Best Bands in the area. I know many of you
wait all year to see if you made the list. So you’ll
find out very soon.
Since the music awards show, I’m being asked a lot
“What’s the next thing you’re working on?”
Thanks for asking!!! Here is the 2007 schedule of events.
First up, I’m pleased to announce Central PA’s
longest running original music concert series will be back
for our 5th year!!! Yes Twisted Tuesdays will return in the
Spring of 2007 to the HBG Hardware Bar. Many people have credited
Twisted Tuesdays as the start of the original music rebound
in Central PA. I’m flattered with the comment, because
that was our original goal with the series. To have quality
bands at every show, so even if you didn’t know the
bands playing, you did know they would be good. The series
has also had many deals struck within it’s night with
all the musicians out in support of the shows and networking
with others.
Next would be the Compilation CD. We are currently in the
band selection process. I want a CD to reflect all genres
of Central PA. The CD will be sent to Mid Atlantic area radio
stations, college and main broadcast, to further expose and
promote what we have here in Central PA. Plans are also in
the works for a CD Release Party to be held in March. Forgot
to mention, we will have an indie label involved with the
product to insure distribution into major retailers. So if
you would want your band to be part of the Compilation CD,
send me an email for
consideration.
For years I’ve wanted to have a huge HBGOnline Birthday
Bash, well in 2007 it will happen. We turn 8 in June, so be
on the look out for a show that will hit all your senses!!!
We’ll wrap the year off again with the 2007 Central
PA Music Awards. Next year will be bigger and better!!! I’ve
seen some things that need tweaked from the last show, so
those items along with some exciting new additions I want,
should make for another awesome event.
Our shows take a lot of work to set up and run. If you would
like to help out, please send
me an email. I could use a few more good people!!!
I’ve also been asked a lot what bands can do to support
HBGOnline. Do you have a link to us on your website? Are we
listed in you’re My Space “Top Friends”
list? Do you have any of our t-shirts to wear on stage during
a gig? If you see me our one of my staffers at your show,
do you plug us to the crowd? Those are the easy ones. The
most important way for a band to show support of our website
is to advertise on the website. There are many options available,
so we can suit any budget requirements. If you are confused
about what we can do for you,
send me an email. It does cost money to keep this beast
online and it would sure be nice if more bands would help
out with the monthly cost. I’ve been told by many people
that HBGOnline does more for bands than anyone else in the
area. So why more bands don’t take advantage of our
website has been an ongoing mystery to me for years.
Well that’s all for now. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas
or whatever you might celebrate. I’ll have one more
article before we end the year.
Until then
