Ok I’ve gotten a few emails and I’m tired of writing the same thing so I’ll write about it here and refer any future emails to this article.

I was asked by Hierosonic in Dec. to help put together a show at the Dragonfly. After their all age CD Release party success, they wanted another show. They wanted to have The Underwater, Agents of the Sun and The Gorgonites on the show. The Gorgonites were down, so I sent the invite to Agents and The Underwater with the show details and asked for a confirmation if they wanted the gig. Both bands emailed back and said yes. Everything was fine till about 2 weeks ago, when The Underwater went to the club with a contract that was more than doubled what they agreed to play for. The club owner emailed me wanted to know what was going on. I told him what they agreed to play for and not to sign any paperwork. They went back again demanding the paper be signed. They were told to contact me regarding the show. I got a call and explained again what was involved with the show pay out for the band. In fact if they would have worked at pre sales and promotions for the show they would have gotten more than they wanted to play. I called Hierosonic and advised of the situation. After some thought, we decided to bump The Underwater from the show. Caving in to their last minute demands would have affected the other bands playing the show, which is not fair in my book. I don’t care who you are!!!

So that is why The Underwater is not playing on Feb. 17th.

I’m not sure what caused this last minute episode with The Underwater because I haven’t had a problem with the band before, when booking shows. Perhaps they just need a little attitude adjustment. Like I said, I don’t care who your are, if you just want money without doing the work, I’m sure you’ll find a sucker out there that will pay you, however it won’t be me.

Moving on. Starting a new website feature soon that will follow a band from start to finish of the CD making process. This band will be The Gorgonites. If you have never heard them before, you need to do so. Definitely the most unique act in Central PA. For now check out their My Space page to hear some home recordings. Warning you might not want to go there if you’re at work. Although “The Sounds” might get some attention at your cubicle. I warned you!!!

I apologize for the lack of site updates these last two weeks. Been working on a bunch of stuff that is taking a lot of my time. Seemed to be caught up now so watch the Home Page for the latest updates.

One of the projects I’ve been working on is the websites for Grinders Nightclub and Bastards Beef and Reef, which is located above the bar. Yes you read it right, Grinders is BACK!!! The official opening date is Feb 11th. Grinders will be open Wed – Saturday. Live bands will be on Saturday night and feature $1.00 Domestic Drafts from 10-midnight. We’re looking to have a mixture of original and cover bands. So keep an eye on the schedule to see when your favorite is playing. If you want to be considered for a gig at Grinders send me an email.

The other project that has kept me busy is Vibez. This will be our sister website that will have local and regional Indie band MP3’s available for purchase/download. I’m breaking it away from here, because I want maximum exposure to the website and don’t want it to be a Central PA only type of website. Cross my fingers it should be live in a few days.
