El Rodeo is one of the most popular restaurants in the Harrisburg area. If you haven’t eaten there by now, you probably should. With their multiple locations to serve you, authentic Mexican fare is the order of the day.

I have been to El Rodeo more times than can be counted. Between their inexpensive lunches and fairly priced dinners, you cannot go wrong. Start off with complimentary tortilla chips and salsa and prepare for a hearty meal.

Dinner choices are plentiful from basic to exquisite, depending on your appetite. When my girlfriend and I go there to eat, we almost always order the same thing. If something is good, why change it? That said, the usual for me is the Combination #17 – Burrito & Enchilada, and for her, Combination #6 – Taco & Enchilada; both served with beans and rice. The first thing you notice about dinner is how quickly it arrives after your order. There have been times when it was served in less than 2 minutes! (For those in a hurry, this should be a strong selling point). The next thing you’ll notice is that the food is served hot, the portions are generous, and is presented nicely. Of course, by now you’ve figured that I’m going to say the food is delicious-and you’d be correct! It is delicious and I would highly recommend this destination for a taste of Mexican cuisine. Other dishes I’ve had: Fajitas Picantes – A spicy combination of chicken & beef served sizzling hot; Enchiladas Verdes – Two chicken enchiladas topped with cheese and a green sauce. Also, if in the mood for soup, try the Sopa de Tortilla, its very good.

For lunch, El Rodeo offers specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays between $3.95-$4.75. On other days the prices are from $4.25 to $6.95. These deals, as well as the meals themselves, are terrific.

Deserts are available if you still have room at the end of your meal. Nothing on the desert menu should be avoided-try it all!

In closing, I can say only good things about El Rodeo. Try it for yourself and you’ll see why it is a popular destination for many people in so many locations.
