Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 25 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (http://www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (http://www.rocky99.com).

Thanks to our guests this week, Blairsville-based hard rockers Medikaded (http://www.medikaded.com). We met the band members and learned their story. We heard two new songs from them, along with tracks from Medikaded’s Chronic Anxiety CD; three lucky listeners called in to win copies of the CD, as well as pairs of tickets to go see Medikaded participate in “Battle of the Bands” at Pittsburgh’s Rex Theatre on May 20! In addition, we debuted a new song from Dauntia, updated “Local Music News,” dug out a 2002 song from Johnstown’s Lost Ledny for a “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed The Jellybricks’ Suckers EP in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

RTL (REPRESENT THE LIE) – “Bleed for Me”

SYLEX – “I’m Not Dead”

MEDIKADED – “Venom”

DAUNTIA – “Dark Against the Sky”

MEDIKADED – “Burn”

Xs FOR EYES – “Orchard Street”

MEDIKADED – “10,000 Miles”

HOUR TWO:

ROADKILL – “The Remaining Days of Zeddska the Elder Canine”

MEDIKADED – “Armageddon”

THE JELLYBRICKS – “Sold”

MEDIKADED – “Angry Widow”

LOST LEDNY – “Past Confusion” (2002, Local Music Flashback)

MEDIKADED – “Find Yourself”

On our next show, we will again empty the “Homegrown Rocker” mailboxes and check out some of the new recordings that have arrived in recent weeks. We plan to debut lots of new tunes, including a brand new one from Ron Gallucci’s forthcoming second CD! We will also update “Local Music News,” dig into the archive for another “Local Music Flashback,” and review Marshmellow Overcoat’s On Safari[/u] CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Maximum local and regional music on the “Homegrown Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Upcoming guests and specials include:

APR. 8 – JEFF WALLACK MEMORIAL JAM PREVIEW

APR. 15 – SHIFT SEVEN

APR. 29 – NORMAN NARDINI

MAY 20 – RICH EDMUNDSON

MAY 27 – MEMORIAL DAY SPECIAL

JUNE 10 – RON GALLUCCI

In Local Music News…

Johnstown-based funk and jazz ensemble The Groove Gathering has a new guitar player, as George Byich has replaced Joe Tirpak. The group has also added Bryan Anton on trombone.

York heavy rockers Ninetail have announced the title for their forthcoming new CD. The album will be called The Vultures Are Circling…, and should be available later this year. Ninetail opened for national recording group Adema on Thursday night at Aldo’s in Altoona.
