Not the biggest GC we’ve ever been to – I should say we’ve been *seriously* spoiled by the local store when we lived out west.
Pro Audio is a little disappointing/ smaller than I’d like, especially in the used gear department; guitar selection on the other hand is pretty decent; really speaks to the area we’re in, I guess (more bands than DJ’s out here in central PA!!) Staff in general are all very friendly & usually very helpful.
Note to anyone who may be/join their mailing list: You may not be the “sales call” type, but I appreciate the extra effort when they call to let us know there’s a major sale going on (2 or 3 times a year if that, not imposing whatsoever). As if I needed a reminder to go spend my money on more gear …
Overall, 4 stars for good people, well-kept location, and decent deals.
The disappointing part is the constant use of the internet store and having to pay for shipping when you want to buy it at the store. But the people who work there are good people who do their best.
The major problem I have is that they are band guys that would rather be on tour. They don’t really care about the customer, only what they are planning for the weekend. They treated quite a few customers crappy and rushed them through, whether it was picks or a PRS.
Far from being a fan of GC. A lot of their gear seems to be B-stock or previous years left overs. I was ready to purchase a “new” Music Man bass from them which they assured me it was only to look up the serial number and find it was a 2008 model. When I started looking closer I noticed that all of the MM bases had severe oxidation on all the chrome hardware. Needless to say, I’ll purchase something like that elsewhere. Call me old skool but I would much rather visit Randy, Greg, or Scott on the West Shore and give them my money, keep that cash in PA instead of sending it to Corporate America.
